Maths Tuition in South Wales

Does your child need extra support with Maths?

Individually Tailored Maths Tuition

Our aim is to make sure your child receives the best possible outcome, so whether you want your child to pass their exams, achieve the A* you know they’re capable of, or simply become more comfortable working with numbers, we can help.

When we first meet your child, we’ll carry out a quick assessment to find out their level of maths knowledge, spot any problematic topics, and recognise any specific skills they are struggling to develop. From here, our tutors will create an individual learning plan designed specifically to help your child catch up and/or improve their maths skills.

Tutor sessions are held in small groups of up to a maximum of 4 children, but each child will be working on their own unique learning plan. All sessions are 1 hour long and can be arranged straight from school, during weekday evenings, and on Saturdays. Our tutor sessions are also available during school holidays, and this is often the perfect time to book a series of more intense sessions if needed.

Your child will be taught by the same maths tutor during every session. Which encourages a good relationship to develop between students, parents and tutors and to ensure your child feels comfortable during their sessions.

Maths Tutoring for Primary School Children

We believe that maths should not be feared, but we understand that not everyone finds maths easy or enjoyable. Our approach to maths tuition for primary school children is to make learning fun! We provide maths tuition for children aged 5 years and older.

Our sessions can help reinforce topics learnt in school, re-teach topics your child struggles to understand, as well as provide assistance with solving maths problems at home. Usually, at the end of every session, your child will receive homework to complete before their next session. But homework is entirely at your discretion, so if you would prefer your child not to receive additional homework on top of their school work, please just let us know.

Maths can be a tricky subject to understand and it’s a struggle for many children. If you’re worried about your child’s lack of progress in maths, you’re not alone. At Smart Education, we can give your child the tuition they need to improve their maths skills, feel less anxious about the subject, and have more faith in their ability to tackle maths problems.

Maths Tutoring for GCSEs and A Levels

Maths is a core subject, so many of our parents want to give their child the best chance of passing their maths GCSE or A Level. Our dedicated GCSE and A Level tutors will work with your child to ensure they reach their full potential, whether that’s hitting the all important C grade, or achieving an A*!

As well as teaching problematic subjects within the maths curriculum, we can also go over past papers to help your child learn from previous mistakes. Your child will learn revision techniques as well as how to prepare for examinations, and you’ll receive regular feedback from their tutor to monitor their progress.

Homework will be distributed every session unless otherwise specified. For GCSE and A Level students, homework will usually revolve around past papers. By giving your child more opportunities to familiarise themselves not only with the content of examinations, but also the layout and format of exams, we can help give them the confidence they need to walk into an exam hall feeling prepared and motivated.

We value each learner’s individual progress, and our aim is to work with your children to provide them with the extra support they need to achieve.

The new Welsh Curriculum

All of our tutors are qualified and DBS checked teachers who stay up to date with the curriculum for Wales guidance, so you can be confident in knowing that any tutoring your child receives with us will be entirely in-line with the learning they do at school.

Give your Child Confidence in their Mathematical Abilities

Our qualified and experienced maths tutors can teach your child everything you feel they need additional help to understand, from going over difficult sub-topics, providing extra help before exams, or simply to top up your child’s mathematical knowledge.

Above all else, we want your child to feel confident in their maths abilities and equipped with the skills they need to continue to learn and thrive. Our learning centres are a welcoming hub that can provide your child with the attention they need to develop their understanding of maths, and realise their true potential.

Regular Feedback for Parents and Guardians

Your child’s tutor will give you feedback regarding your child’s progress at the end of every session either by a quick informal chat, or via email. Every 3 months your child will be assessed to check their progress, and you’ll be emailed the results of these assessments. We know how stressful it can be for parents if you are aware your child is struggling in school, and so we provide clear and regular communication between our tutors and our parents.

Our fantastic tutors will ensure your child receives exceptional teaching and well deserved praise for achieving and improving. Our little learners can be awarded our Star of the Week to make sure they know how well they are progressing, and we emphasise success at every level.
